Every now and then a unique travel opportunity presents.
The rarely visited Nuyts Archipelago is a breeding ground for wildlife on both land and sea set against a back drop of spectacular beaches, hidden coves and coastal cliffs.
Our journey is an opportunity to be amongst a very small number of people who have been to these remote islands where access is strictly limited by the South Australian government to one group per month (maximum ten people).
We will camp for three nights using comfortable swags, portable showers and chemical toilets (similar to those in caravans). The campsite is fully catered and our meals will be prepared for us from fresh seafood caught that day to be enjoyed around the campfire with your favorite beverage.
We have combined our time on the Nuyts Archipelago with the best of the Eyre Peninsula to create an eleven day journey commencing and concluding in Port Lincoln. We travel northwest by road to Streaky Bay for three nights exploring the rugged coastline. Streaky Bay is also where we make the sea crossing to Nuyts Archipelago and our base camp for three days on St Francis Island. From here we will explore the archipelago by land and sea.
We return to Port Lincoln for three nights and spend a day at Coffin Bay eating freshly shucked oysters straight from the farm with visits to Port Lincoln National Park and Coffin Bay National Park.
We use comfortable hotels when not on the islands and our journey is fully inclusive of all meals, entrance fees, private vehicles and boats. Port Lincoln has daily flights to and from all major Australian cities. Our journey is suitable for travelers who have a reasonable level of fitness and an appreciation of what comes with a little bit of adventure.
